MY JOURNAL: FAMILY STORY DAYS | SOCCER DURING A PANDEMIC

• FAMILY STORY DAYS •

“The happiest people I know are not those who find their golden ticket, they are those who, while in the pursuit of worthy goals, discover and treasure the beauty and the sweetness of everyday moments.”

- Dieter F. Uchtdorf (Photo taken 2021 - Ike age 8.)

The season for soccer has almost come to an end. I happened to snap this moment at the end of Ike's game on Saturday, hours before an announced 3 day lockdown due to the pandemic. The teams elbowing each other out of mutual sporting respect, captured forever in the moving stillness of this photo.

Both Ike & Moss played brilliantly and I'm extremely proud of them both. There have been great moments of stopping goals, getting corked but always thinking of others as well, on field and off and not to forget the learning of new independence (such as buying their own food and drink from the soccer canteen.) or discovering plover eggs and researching about them.

Whether they received certificates, trophies or not, the real treasure is seeing them in the sweetness of every day moments, in the ordinary moments like this.
